Welcome to APCHI 2013

The 11th Asia Pacific Conference on Computer Human Interaction (APCHI 2013) in conjunction with 5th national conference on Human Computer Interaction India HCI 2013 will be held in Bangalore, India, September 24-27, 2013 . Bangalore- well known as the research hub for Indian IT industry is a habitat of approximately 25000 usability and HCI professional, ranging from service industry like Infosys, TCS, Wipro to the product development companies like Google, Microsoft, and Adobe etc. and therefore offers a natural venue for HCI conference in order to gain the threshold in this effort.

APCHI 2013 brings researchers together from academia and industry and provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and information on human-computer interaction and related areas in computer and communication technologies and human and social sciences.

As Asia Pacific region is well known for wide diversity of cultures and languages, and since this year for the first time, the conference moves to India, a land of intercultural spirit, it rightly deserves the theme, “Interaction Diversity”. The theme represents the multidisciplinary, multilingual and multi-socio-economic aspects of research in human-computer interaction (HCI). Diversities bring a lot of technical and social challenges in designing the interactions for users with different levels of literacy, different cultures and languages, different levels of expertise and capabilities, and different needs. We solicit high quality contributions in terms of research, practices, new solutions and emerging technologies in broad area of HCI to tackle such challenges.

The APCHI 2013 conference welcomes researchers, professionals, practitioners and designer’s representing research societies, industry and academia from and across the globe. All submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. Accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings. Like previous year conference, the authors of selected long talks will be invited to have their papers published in a special issue of the International Journal of Innovative Computing, Information and Control (indexed by SCI) after further revision. Authors of selected short talks will be invited to have their papers published at a special issue of ICIC Express Letters (indexed by EI) or a special issue of HCD-Net journal.

APCHI 2013 has the following three categories of conference awards:

1) Best Paper Award
2) Best Student Paper Award
3) Best Poster/Demonstration Award
The winner of the Award will receive a certificate and/or prizes sponsored by our industrial partners.
